Ingredients
– 1 refrigerated pie crust (or homemade, if you prefer)
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup brown sugar, packed
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 2 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Equipment Needed
– 9-inch pie dish
– Mixing bowl
– Whisk
– Spatula
– Measuring cups and spoons
Step-by-Step Instructions
The first thing I do is preheat my oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s nice and warm when the pie is ready to go in. While that’s heating up, I roll out my refrigerated pie crust and carefully fit it into my 9-inch pie dish. I love how just unrolling the dough makes my kitchen smell like a bakery! In a mixing bowl, I combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mixing the dry ingredients first helps to evenly distribute the leavening. After that, I whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a separate bowl until they’re smooth and creamy. It’s honestly such a satisfying step!
