Mounds Poke Cake Recipe

Ingredients

– 1 box chocolate cake mix
– 1 cup water
– 1/2 cup vegetable oil
– 3 large eggs
– 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
– 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
– 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
– 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
– 1 cup chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Equipment Needed

– 9×13 inch cake pan
– Mixing bowls
– Electric mixer (optional)
– Large fork or skewer
– Rubber spatula

Step-by-Step Instructions

First things first, start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs, and beat everything together until nice and smooth. When you pour that mixture into a greased 9×13 inch cake pan, the aroma is simply heavenly! Bake it for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. After cooling for about 10 minutes, it’s time to poke those holes into the cake! I like to use a large fork for this, but a skewer works just as well. Just make sure to poke holes about an inch apart, reaching down almost to the bottom of the cake. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
