Apple Crisp Cheesecake

Ingredients

– 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 3 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 4 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1 cup rolled oats
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed

Equipment Needed

– 9-inch springform pan
– Mixing bowls
– Electric mixer or whisk
– Baking sheet
– Knife for slicing apples
– Peeler for apples
– Rubber spatula

Step-by-Step Instructions

To start off, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In my kitchen, I find that a good preheating not only sets the stage but also gets the aroma of baking going early. For the crust, I combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a mixing bowl until everything is well combined. Then, I press this mixture firmly into the bottom of my springform pan to create a solid base for my cheesecake. It’s important to pack it well; otherwise, it might crumble when you cut into the cheesecake. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
