Ingredients
– 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
– 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
– 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
– 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Equipment Needed
– Slow cooker (Crockpot)
– Measuring cups and spoons
– Mixing bowl
– Fork (for shredding chicken)
Step-by-Step Instructions
To start, I like to coat the bottom of my slow cooker with a little cooking spray to prevent sticking. Next, place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, and season them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. You want to make sure each piece gets a nice little sprinkle. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Once it’s all blended, pour that delicious mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker, making sure everything is well coated. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
