Reese’s Peanut Butter Earthquake Cake

Ingredients

– 1 box of chocolate cake mix
– 1 cup of water
– 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
– 3 large eggs
– 1 cup of creamy or crunchy peanut butter
– 1 cup of powdered sugar
– 1 cup of chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
– 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts (optional)

Equipment Needed

– One 9×13-inch baking pan
– Mixing bowls
– Whisk
– Electric mixer (optional)
– Rubber spatula
– Measuring cups and spoons

Step-by-Step Instructions

To start off, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While that’s warming up, grab a mixing bowl and combine your chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. I like to use an electric mixer for this part since it makes the batter super smooth, but a whisk works just as well if you don’t have one. Mix until everything is well combined, then set it aside for a moment. This part of the process already fills my kitchen with the most delightful chocolate aroma! It’s hard to believe I have to wait to enjoy the final product. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
