Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 10-12 slices of bacon
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
Equipment Needed
- Large mixing bowl
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper (optional, for easier cleanup)
- Meatloaf pan or loaf pan
- Oven
Step-by-Step Instructions
To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix it gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined; you don’t want to overwork the meat. Next, shape half of the meat mixture into a loaf on a baking sheet or in a meatloaf pan. Now, it’s time for the star of the show: the mozzarella cheese! Make a little trench in the center of the meatloaf and stuff it generously with shredded mozzarella. Then, take the remaining meat mixture and carefully press it on top, sealing in that cheesy goodness. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
