Step-by-Step Instructions
First, I start by making the pudding from scratch. In a medium saucepan, I whisk together the sugar, flour, and salt to get rid of any lumps. Then, I slowly add the milk while continuously whisking until it’s smooth. I heat this mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens. This can take a few minutes, and I always keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. Once it’s nice and thick, I stir in the vanilla extract and let it cool for a bit.
