Ingredients
– 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)
– 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
– 1 cup diced onion
– 2 cups mixed vegetables (frozen works great!)
– 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)
– 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or your preferred soup)
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Optional: fresh herbs for garnish
Equipment Needed
– Large skillet
– 9×13-inch casserole dish
– Cutting board
– Sharp knife
– Aluminum foil
– Mixing bowl
Step-by-Step Instructions
First, I preheat my oven to 350°F (175°C). While it warms up, I take a large skillet and cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. I love the smell as it fills the kitchen! Then, I drain any excess grease and sauté the onions for a few minutes until they’re soft and translucent. This step adds amazing flavor to the dish. Once that’s done, I season the mixture with salt and pepper. This creates a wonderful base for the casserole. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
