- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 packet of round or square crackers
Equipment Needed
- Mixing bowl
- Rubber spatula or wooden spoon
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Sharp knife (for chopping)
- Serving platter or storage container
Step-by-Step Instructions
First, start by gathering all the ingredients on your countertop. I always find it helpful to have everything prepped and ready to go. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, finely chopped dill pickles, fresh dill, garlic powder, and onion powder. The scent of the dill and pickles together is simply intoxicating! Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to mix everything until it’s well combined and creamy. Don’t rush this step; the better blended it is, the more harmonious the flavors will be.
Once your filling is ready, it’s time to assemble the sandwiches. Grab your crackers, and decide if you want to use round or square ones—I’ve tried both, and honestly, it comes down to personal preference. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto half of the crackers. I usually err on the side of generous, as I love when they ooze just a bit out as I bite into them. Place the remaining crackers on top of the filled ones, gently pressing down to create small sandwiches. (See the next page below to continue…)
