Ingredients
– 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade if you’re feeling ambitious)
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup brown sugar, packed
– ½ cup granulated sugar
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark, your choice)
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch
– ½ teaspoon salt
Equipment Needed
– Mixing bowls
– A whisk or electric mixer
– Measuring cups and spoons
– A pie dish
– Rubber spatula
– Refrigerator
Step-by-Step Instructions
To get started, first, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If you’re using a pre-made pie crust, place it in your pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. If you’re making your own, roll it out and fit it in the dish. While the crust is getting ready, I like to prepare the cookie dough filling. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with both types of sugar, mixing until creamy. Add the vanilla extract and mix again until well incorporated. The smell of brown sugar and vanilla is heavenly! (See the next page below to continue steps…)
