Cheddar Bay Beef Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups biscuit mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Equipment Needed

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking dish
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk

Step-by-Step Instructions

To start, I heat a large skillet over medium heat, adding the ground beef and breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Once it begins to brown, I throw in the chopped onion and minced garlic, letting them cook until the onion is translucent and fragrant. It’s one of my favorite moments, with the smell of the beef mingling with the onion wafting through the kitchen! Next, I stir in the frozen mixed vegetables, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper. I let it all simmer together for about 5-7 minutes until the flavors meld perfectly. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
